SPEECH BY MR. IGOR MOZGO, PRESS SECRETARY OF THE EMBASSY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, AT THE CEREMONY OF DRUGS DONATION TO SOTGGA OFFICIALS
(October 29, 2005)

Dear Dr.Narh

Esteemed members of Soviet/Russian -Trained Ghanaian Graduates Association

Participants of Medical Outreach Programme

Dear friends

Ladies and gentlemen

Needless to say it is a great honour for me to participate in today's Medical Outreach Programme.

First of all I would like to express my gratitude to the SOTGGA leadership for invitation to take part in this function.

I strongly believe that the present Medical Outreach Programme, organized by SOTGGA, is a very special event, a clear and obvious evidence of the contribution of Ghanaians trained in our country to the welfare of the people of Ghana.

As far as we were informed, during this Medical Outreach Programme SOTGGA Medical Team comprising of Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses, Laboratory Technicians and others will give talk on quite a number of various medical topics including HIV/AIDS and also screen people for Malaria, Arthritis, Colds, Anemia, Hypertension, General Infection, Breast Cancer, Eye, Ear and Nose problems etc.

It seems quite natural that the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ghana, having long-standing friendly ties with SOTGGA, decided to take part in this Programme.

In this connection the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ghana supported by Russian construction company MOSSIB would like to present some drugs that could be dispensed to patients who need medications. After consultations with Dr.Narh we decided to present drugs that are very effective in treatment of such diseases as Malaria, Colds and General Infections.

Let me also introduced to you Mr. Sergey Vladimirov, the Embassy's Physician, who is broad specialist in medicine and who will join SOTGA Medical Team in screening people.

We hope that our modest but sincere contribution to this Programme will help people who attend this function.

In conclusion I would like to wish every success to the Medical Outreach Programme and good health and prosperity to all of you.

Thank you for your kind attention.
