RUSSIAN AMBASADOR PAID A COURTESY CALL ON SPEAKER

Accra, February 25, 2005 (PSERF) - H.E.Mr.Valery Orlov, Russian Ambassador to Ghana visited Parliament and held discussions with newly elected Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana Rt. Hon. Ebenezer Begyna Sekyi Hughes. He forwarded to the Speaker congratulatory messages of H.E.Mr.S.Mironov, Chairman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and H.E.Mr.B.Gryzlov, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the occasion of his election. Russian Ambassador and the Speaker of the Ghanaian Parliament also discussed some issues of interparliamentary cooperation between two countries including functioning of the Ghana - Russia parliamentary association, established in 2003, renewal of the invitation to the Group of friendship with the African Parliaments of the Council of Federation to visit Ghana, etc.
