Russian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs arrives to Ghana

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in-charge of UN affairs, peacekeeping operations and economic co-operation, Mr. Yury Fedotov arrives in Accra on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 for a two-day working visit.

While in the country, Mr. Fedotov would hold talks in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana, visit the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre (KAIPC) at Teshie in Accra.

During the visit the issues relating to security and peacekeeping operations in the West African Sub-Region would be discussed including development of the situation in Liberia and Cote d' Ivoire. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister would also hold talks on political, economic and other issues of mutual interest with his Ghanaian counterparts.

Mr. Fedotov also would visit Liberia, Cote d' Ivoire and Nigeria.
