Alexander Yakovenko, the Spokesman of Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Answers a Russian Media Question Regarding the Killing of International Police Officers in Kosovo
Question: What is the reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to the killing of two international police officers in Kosovo on the night of March 23-24?
Answer: The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the killing near Pristina of the two international police officers in Kosovo.
The violence and instability that have engulfed Kosovo cannot be put up with. Those guilty of the killing of the policemen should be found and brought to justice.
We consider that in Kosovo it is necessary to take the toughest action to suppress the hotbeds of violence, to reliably protect the civilian population and to achieve strict compliance with the requirements of the UN Security Council concerning the principles for Kosovo settlement, embodied in UNSCR 1244.
