PUTIN SENDS CONDOLENCES TO EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT
MOSCOW, October 8 (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin sent Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak his condolences over the tragic terrorist attacks in Taba and Nuweiba on the Sinai peninsula, the presidential press service reported.
The Russian president's message:
"I am deeply concerned about the news of the horrifying terrorist attacks on the Egyptian cities of Taba and Nuweiba. Dozens of innocent people - Egyptians, Russians, and citizens of other countries - have fallen victim to this murderous atrocity. The Russian people sincerely sympathize and share the bitterness of this tragedy, and resolutely condemn this appalling crime committed on the Sinai peninsula.
"Terrorists have unleashed a war against the all humanity, against the civilized world. And we should rebuff their attacks with tough consolidated actions, and solidarity and coordinated efforts of the international community. Our task is to maximally develop bilateral interaction in the fight against international terrorism. I am convinced that the Russian-Egyptian cooperation in this sphere is a reliable chain in the global antiterrorism coalition.
"In this sorrowful time, I ask you to convey [our] condolences to the people of Egypt and to the families of those who were killed or injured."
