Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Fedotov Meets with South African Minister of Foreign Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma
On August 20, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Yuri Fedotov, staying in Durban, South Africa, at the invitation of the organizers of the 14th Conference of foreign ministers of the Nonaligned Movement member states and the 2nd Conference of Afro-Asian Subregional Organizations, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Africa, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.
Fedotov handed Dlamini-Zuma a message from Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov stressing the role of the Nonaligned Movement in counteraction against global threats and challenges and its contribution to tackling the burning problems of our time. The message also notes with satisfaction the identity or similarity of the positions of Russia and the Nonaligned Movement on key issues of world development.
Major questions of coordination between Russia and South Africa in international affairs, and problems in bilateral cooperation in the commercial, economic, scientific, technological, humanitarian and other fields were discussed at the meeting.
