Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov Meets with Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Raouf Saad

On December 29 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov received Raouf Saad, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Russia, upon the completion of his mission in Moscow.

In the course of the conversation the sides noted with satisfaction the strengthening of the Russian-Egyptian political dialogue and trade-and-economic cooperation. They stressed the great significance of the strength-gathering steady engagement between Moscow and Cairo in international and regional organizations, especially after the admission of Russia as an observer to the OIC and the accreditation of the Russian ambassador to Egypt as Russia's permanent representative at the League of Arab States.

Sergey Lavrov reiterated the firm intention of our country to continue to develop bilateral ties comprehensively in accordance with the Joint Statement on the Further Strengthening of Relations of Friendship and Strategic Partnership, adopted in April of this year during the visit to Cairo of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
