Vladimir Putin sent a message to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, November 22, 2005

The message reads, in particular:

"It is pleasant that Morocco holds first place among Russia's trading partners in Africa. We highly value the government of Morocco's decision to abolish visas for Russian citizens. Undoubtedly this creates favourable conditions for increasing tourism and business contacts between our countries. I believe that promptly holding the second session of the mixed intergovernmental Russian-Moroccan commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation would help promote this positive tendency. At this session it would be possible to examine other prospects for cooperation such as, for example, in fuel and energy, irrigation and water supply, geology, real estate, transportation and high-tech."

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, presently in Morocco, transmitted the message.
