Ethiopian foreign minister to visit Russia
MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - A wide variety of bilateral and international issues will be on the agenda of a working visit by Ethiopian Foreign Minister Seyoum Mesfin to Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Yakovenko told journalists.
"The Ethiopian foreign minister's working visit is aimed at stepping up Russia's relations with Africa and giving a fresh impetus to our efforts intended to secure Russia's long-term interests in this region in general," he said. "The visit will help further advance contacts with Ethiopia, which enjoys broad authority both in Africa and the Non-Aligned Movement, on crucial international issues, contributing to relations between the two countries. The ministers will discuss bilateral political, trade and business relations and ties in other areas, as well as ways to intensify them," Yakovenko said.
